Stream Mapping Features and Location - GPS - all streams (DNV 1997)
Features - measurements, photos - Mosquito Creek, Thain Creek (NSK/MCSS 1997)

WATER QUANTITY AND QUALITY

Headwaters Forested, access road, old logging road and cuts, recreation trails, ski runs.
Provides water source (rainwater and snowmelt) but potential for debris and sediment.
Main Stem Flows Increased peak flows and frequency due to high percentage of impervious development.
Bank erosion from hikers and dogs.
Storm Water Storm drains drain a large urban area, with a high level of impermeable, which causes fluctuating water levels in streams.
Non-point source water quality problems from urban runoff (esp Wagg and Lower Mission).
Baseflow Maintenance Ground water reserves still exist, but some were filled in the past.
Wetland areas very small.
Forest limited to ravines and top of bank in mid watershed.
Point Source Pollutants Small fill site leaching into creek south of CNV Works Yard.

WATER QUANTITY AND QUALITY MANAGEMENT
ACTIVITIES IN WATERSHED

Water Recycling Use of grey water system for equipment (CNV Works Yard)
Catch Basin Filters Use of Oil and Grit Interceptors (CNV, DNV)
Use of fibre sock filters (DNV)
Storm Drain Marking Embossed fish symbol on grates (CNV)
Painted fish symbol on some grates (volunteers)
Water Quality Monitoring Continuous monitoring for 1 year - Wagg Creek (CNV 1998)
Benthic Assessment - Mosquito Creek, Wagg Creek (GVRD 2000)
