Watershed Awards
Not long ago, this entire area was forested, rich in wildlife, with a healthy fisheries resource.
Although drastically reduced, the remaining natural habitat still supports native plants and animals.
This heritage can be saved and passed on to future generations through a combined effort.
Many people have already taken on various tasks to improve the watershed.
Individuals have planted native plants on their own property, local non-government groups have done clean-ups along trailways, businesses have done creek clean-ups, and local government staff monitor and maintain habitat areas.
Some groups, government departments, and individuals have worked together to restore fish habitat and green space.
