GOVERNMENT

Local government is responsible for maintaining parks and green spaces, as well as providing infrastructure such as roads, sewers and the water supply, while at the same time, protecting the environment.
There can be a difference of interests at times, but some initiatives help alleviate problems.
For example, the City of North Vancouver uses a grey water system for washing down city vehicles - trucks and equipment. The wash water is captured, filtered and recycled.
The District of North Vancouver began using filters in their street storm drains in 1995. The filters catch contaminants such as motor oil and keep it from being carried through the storm drains to nearby creeks. The City of North Vancouver also uses filters on street drains.
THANK YOU.
